How remote UK Ltd formation works in practice

A UK Private Limited Company (Ltd) is a separate legal entity registered at Companies House. Non-resident founders can form one remotely through an authorised ACSP. Eteform handles the filing and checks in 24–48 working hours. Six service packages start from £226; the £100 Companies House fee is shown separately.

After incorporation you receive a CRN and digital documents. Many founders then open Wise Business or Revolut Business, set a London registered office if needed, and prepare for Stripe, Shopify or Amazon using matching company details. Annual duties typically include the Confirmation Statement (CS01), accounts, and Corporation Tax registration with HMRC when trading starts. Dormant companies still have lighter filing duties — they are not a full exemption from Companies House.

UK Ltd formation does not grant UK residency or a visa. Eteform guarantees legal, complete execution of every request, and bank or payment-gateway approval when all requirements are fully met — with a correctly filed, transparent entity and Arabic support from order to certificate. Compare packages, read the formation guide, or start your order with clear GBP pricing.

Who needs a London registered office?

Non-residents forming a UK Ltd from the Gulf, Egypt or the Levant; anyone who does not want their personal address on the register; and anyone who needs a British address accepted by banks, Stripe and platforms. It differs from a Director Service Address and from a virtual office for customer parcels.

The legal function of the registered office

It is the official point where legal and tax notices are expected to arrive. Lacking a valid UK address blocks formation or exposes the company to later breaches. The address is published on the public register; therefore do not use your family home abroad, or a random address not authorised to receive mail.

How the service works step by step

  • Choose the registered office package or a privacy package that includes it
  • Provide company details (name and CRN if you have one) and directors
  • Activate the address and update the Companies House register when needed
  • Receive notices of relevant official correspondence
  • Renew the subscription annually before it expires

What happens to incoming mail?

We receive correspondence at the agreed address and notify you of documents relevant to the company and tax. Urgent items (such as HMRC mail) are treated with higher priority than marketing post. Scan or physical-forwarding details are set out in the service terms at subscription.

What the annual subscription includes

  • Right to use a London address as Registered Office on the register
  • Handling of official company correspondence within the service policy
  • A reminder before the year renews
  • Help updating the address at Companies House on activation or transfer

Price and duration

The service is from about £50 per year depending on the package shown on /packages and /en/packages. Activation follows payment and complete data. If you do not renew, you must appoint an alternative registered office immediately and update the register.

What a registered office alone does not cover

It does not hide your personal address as a director (that is the service address). It does not provide a meeting room. And it does not replace a virtual office if you receive commercial parcels or heavy daily customer mail. Choose the tier that matches your correspondence volume.

Renewal and cancellation

The service is annual. If you do not renew, appoint an alternative registered office immediately and update the register; leaving the company without a valid address is a legal risk. If you formed with a privacy package, the address is bundled — check your package terms.

FAQ about this service

Is the address visible to everyone online?

Yes. The registered office is part of the public data on Companies House.

Can I use a PO Box only?

The address must meet accepted registered-office conditions. We provide a qualifying address within our service; do not rely on untested solutions.

Can I move the address from another provider to you?

Yes. We coordinate the register update after your subscription activates and time the cut-over from the previous service so mail is not interrupted.

What is the difference between registered office and director service address?

The registered office is the company’s address on the public register. The director service address protects your residential address as a director. Non-residents who care about privacy often need both.

Is the address enough to open Stripe?

It helps a great deal because platforms reject non-UK addresses as registered office. With a clear activity, an account in the company name and matching documents, requirements are met and approval is guaranteed.
